Lets keep learning while having fun this Summer! UpReach Learning offers a variety of programs enhancing students Critical Thinking and Creativity skills. Our dedicated student friendly teachers will teach the concepts by making classes fun. You may want to learn next year content in math, English or other subjects; or learn new concepts like Chess or Coding; or develop your artistic skills by studying Digital Painting and Illustration. Classes are offered at scheduled hours Monday through Saturday for 11 days cycles. That is, each session has 11 days or 11 meeting times.
The schedule is representative of offerings. Any level course can be offered more than once a day depending on the registrations. Example, Chess I scheduled in Period 1 but it can be offered in Period 2 or others as well. This will allow student to attend different programs back to back.

Level I:
Students will gain a solid understanding of the foundations of chess, piece movements, and setting up the board. Students will apply their chess skills in the tournament. Open to all age levels.
Level II and up:
Students will expand their knowledge of chess openings, middlegames and endgames. Students will apply their chess skills in the tournament. Open to all age levels.
Digital Drawing and Illustration 1
In this course, you will learn the basics of Procreate and digital art which will allow you to start your creative journey with no limits. Have fun and learn with practical assignments that build confidence in digital tools to achieve realism in your paintings. Get ready to be mesmerized by the power of digital art.
Digital Drawing and Illustration 2
In the first half of this course, you will learn how to paint with color while considering light through studies of film and professional artwork. And in the second half, our focus will be the step-by-step process of professional illustrators where you will be guided through your first digital illustration. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to bring your creative ideas to life like never before.
*It is recommended that students have their own iPad and pencil to benefit from this program. We will be using Procreate as the main program to learn the skills. Few iPads will be available at the Center.
Coding- Python
In this Python course, the aim will be to teach the students how to code basic applications in Python. It’ll start by showing students how to download and install Python and teach them the very basics such as data types, and variables. The course will be divided into modules/levels and each module will delve deeper into programming concepts.
There will be multiple assignments throughout the modules and a fun project at the end of each module so that the students can apply the knowledge they learned and create something tangible with their skills. These projects will include specialized calculators, text-based games, GUI-based games, etc.
They will be designed to make the students understand why they are learning how to program in Python and how it can be used to create useful applications that they can use outside of the classroom.
By the end of this course, students will have a solid understanding of programming concepts in Python and will have the ability to create basic applications. They will be ready to take a more advanced programming class later on.
*Students should bring a laptop to study this course.
